Helping you process trauma and find connections you have been missing.

You remember the day you became a first responder and how happy you were. You were on top of the world. Your dream had come true. You had joined a new family.

Since then, you have seen a lot of “shit” happen to innocent and vulnerable people.

Day in and day out you have witnessed the aftermath of some horrific and violent incidents. At times you were in the middle of them and almost lost your life.

For years now, you have been on your “A” game. But lately you have been having flashbacks, unexplained body pains, and trouble sleeping. Those gruesome images of innocent people suffering are stuck in your brain and won’t go away.

Now you have reached the point where you can no longer ignore what has been affecting you. You were once amazing at letting go of the  events you witnessed. You have been pushing them deep down and shuffling them away. You have wondered at times how you have made it this far. You have been stacking up multiple traumas and will continue to as long as you’re on the job.

You have learned to cope in unhealthy ways, which in turn have hurt your loved ones.

You may be having marital problems, do not participate in family activities anymore, and may even be divorced. You cannot sleep and have been drinking to cope. You frequently lash out at your friends and family. You feel worthless and alone. You may feel ashamed for not being as strong as you used to be and worry that your peers may see you as weak if you ask for help.

You tell yourself that all you need is a break, but unwanted negative thoughts keep racing through your head. You tell yourself this is just a phase, it will pass. But it is hard to admit that you are struggling.

You have reached a point where enough is enough. It is time to try something different.

Having worked in the past as an Emergency Response Social Worker in Child Protective Services, and also as a Medical Social Worker in ER, ICU, NICU, and Pediatric Neurosurgery, I have witnessed a lot of trauma, death, and grief.

Being in these settings I have learned that nothing is taken for granted as every person has his/her own way of handling situations. There is not one way to heal all. I provide a welcoming environment where you can choose whether or not to re-tell  your experience.  I will work with you through your body and brain to process your memories and witness your healing by holding a space for you. I will integrate Brainspotting and EMDR to assist in finding the relief you have been searching for.
